Nylon Bossing Hammer (Pear Shaped Head)

The hammer is 13 inches long with a 2 inch head, the head is made of Nylon while the handle is made from wood.

Bossing hammers are essential for any silversmith. They are used in the early stages of raising, when a flat piece of metal is changed into s 3D shape through the process of hammering. The wider side of the head is used for truing the metal while the narrower edge is great for adding detail and controlling the shape of the metal.  The nylon hammer head is smooth and will not mar the metal surface while you work on it, should ideally be used with a smooth surface such as a sandbag.
