Hematite gets its silver reflective appearance when it is polished, when the stone is raw, it gives off a transparent red colour. Deposits that are cuttable can be found in Cumberland, England, Bangladesh, Brazil, China and New Zealand. Hematite cannot be soaked in water as it rusts very easily so it is not recommended to shower or bathe with the stone, if you would like to clean it, it is recommended to wet a cloth with warm water and dab it onto the stone, make sure to dry the stone thoroughly before leaving it.
